2007 Cabernet Franc

2007 Cabernet Franc

NEW RELEASE!

Tasting Notes: Our 2007 Cabernet Franc displays a beautiful ruby color in the glass. On the nose it shows wonderful aromas of ripe, dark berries, sage, tobacco leaf and licorice. The palate is medium- to full-bodied with added notes of plum and spice. The wine is framed by soft ripe tannins and sweet oak, but lingers on the long finish. Although very approachable now, this wine has the balance and structure to age well for several years.

Winemaker Comments: This 2007 Cabernet Franc is an intense, full-bodied version of the varietal. This year’s bottling also contains some Malbec to give the wine added structure and complexity. The wine was barrel aged for 22 months in a combination of French and Hungarian oak barrels (approximately 40% new). This wonderfully aromatic wine is best served with hearty red meat dishes.
