2007 Malbec
Our 2007 Malbec displays a pretty garnet color in the glass. On the nose, waves of fig and black cherry jump from the glass, framed by hints of menthol and cedar. The wine shows good tannic structure that is balanced by a subtle, underlying layer of racy acidity. Bright blackberry and currant fruits also make an appearance. These all blend seamlessly into a long, lingering finish that shows added notes of black tea and spice.
The grapes for our 2007 Malbec came entirely from the Naggiar Vineyard in Nevada County, California. The wine was aged for over 24 months in neutral French oak barrels, and it is an aromatic, fruit-driven take on this classic French varietal. We enjoy it with hearty red meat dishes, as well as more flavorful pork dishes.
