Placer County Wine Tasting - August 26.
Join us for an fundraiser for local youth and athletics in Colfax.  The event is sponsored by the Green Machine and is also a Kick-off for the new Wine and Cheese Outlet in the Old Pharmacy Building in Colfax.  Casque is pleased to be pouring tastings and the Wine and Cheese Outlet will also be selling wine by the bottle to take home.  Click here for event details

Fall Release Party at Lakeside Beverages -
September 24th and 25th.
Mark your calendars to stop by Lakeside Beverages in Granite Bay and taste Casque Wines full line up including our new releases.  Both evenings are just $5.00 per person and will run from 6:00 - 9:00. Stop by before dinner or make it your evening.  More details coming soon.
 

Past Events:

Casque Wines Named California's Best MicroWinery at Grape and Gourmet on Wednesday, July 7th.  Casque Wines is proud to be a major winner at the 2010 California State Fair Wine competition, but it all got even better as they were named during the event as California's Best MicroWinery for both White Wines and Red Wines, winning 2 out of 3 awards for small production wineries.  The entire competition had over 2700 wines entered for MicroWinery and commercial wineries combined.  See below for details on Casque's 4 awards including Double Gold, Gold, and 2 Silvers.

As one of the major award winning wineries, Casque is pleased to be pouring for the State Fair Gala on July 9th, for major California dignitaries and supporters of the State Fair.

State Fair Winners - Casque 

"Best California MicroWinery"

Casque’s wines were honored in the Micro Winery Category with all 4 entries winning silver and above.  State Fair awards for the Micro Winery category are Gold, Silver, and Bronze. However, Casque Wines beat the odds with a Double Gold!

  1. 2009 Vermentino (DOUBLE GOLD - 98 POINTS)  This nearly perfect score was awarded to just a few in the larger wine category and was a surprise score in the Micro Winery category. Releasing at the Bastille Day event listed above.
  2. 2007 Cabernet Franc (GOLD - 95 POINTS)  Also one of the highest scoring winners in the Micro Winery category.
  3. 2009 Viognier (SILVER - 91 POINTS)  Releasing at the Bastille Day event listed above.
  4. 2008 Calotte Blanc (SILVER – 88 POINTS)  Note that the 2007 Calotte Blanc was the first wine Casque Wines released and won a Best of Class at the San Francisco Chronicle 2009 Wine Competition, America’s largest competition.

The wins for the Vermentino and Cabernet Franc garnered Casque Wines the title for 2 out of 3 awards for Best California MicroWinery (Red Wines and White Wines).  The MicroWinery category was created for small production commercial wineries who make less than 2000 cases a year.  They are scored on the same scale as the larger commercial wineries, but don't need to adhere to the requirements for wine that needs to be made available for State Fair activities.

The Vermentino and Viognier will be released next Wednesday, July 14th at the Bistro La Petite's Bastille Day event that will Feature 3 of Casque's award winning wines paired with some exotic small plates of food.  Click Here for details about the event and to purchase tickets.
